Subscription, Billing, Auto-Renewal and Refund Policy
1. Currency, taxes and payment processing
1.1 Prices are shown and charged in Canadian dollars (CAD) or US dollars (USD), as selected at checkout. Each plan has a separate CAD and USD price; we do not convert your charge.
1.2 Prices are exclusive of taxes. Where we are registered to collect it, GST/HST and any other applicable sales tax is calculated and added at checkout based on your billing address, and is shown before you confirm.
1.3 Payments are processed by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number. Your card details are handled by the processor under its own terms and security standards.
1.4 You authorize us and our processor to charge your designated payment method for all fees and taxes due, including on each automatic renewal, until you cancel.
2. Plans
| Plan | Price | Billing | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free beta — Bankable Business and Bankable Marketplace | CA$0 | For as long as the beta lasts | No payment method needed. Checkout is switched off during the beta. Marketplace listing plans are free during the beta. See section 3A |
| Free trial — the worked examples | CA$0 | 7 days from first sign-in | One per person and per organization; no payment method needed. The trial does not include exports (PDF or spreadsheet), investor links or creating your own proformas. Paid plans bought at checkout do not include a trial (section 3.6) |
| Pro | CA$24.99 / month, CA$62.99 / quarter or CA$199.99 / year (US$18.99, US$47.99, US$149.99) | Monthly, quarterly or annual, in advance | One user; every deal model, unlimited proformas and PDF exports with your logo |

| Multi-tenant properties add-on | Venture: CA$39.99 / month or CA$399.99 / year (US$29.99, US$299.99). Enterprise: CA$29.99 / month or CA$299.99 / year (US$22.99, US$229.99) | Monthly or annual, in advance, on top of the plan | Available on Venture and Enterprise only; no trial |
| Enterprise | Quoted | Per Order Form | Governed by the Enterprise Master Subscription Agreement |
Quarterly and annual plans are billed in a single payment in advance. An annual plan costs 26% to 33% less than twelve monthly payments, depending on the plan. Current plans, prices and feature scopes are those shown on our pricing page and at checkout at the time you subscribe.
3. Free trial
3.1 The trial period is 7 days from activation, which occurs when you verify your email using the one-time code we send.
3.2 The trial does not automatically convert into a paid subscription. We will not charge any payment method at the end of a trial unless you have separately and expressly consented to a paid subscription, and we have disclosed the amount, the billing date, the billing frequency, and how to cancel.
3.3 We will send a reminder before the trial ends.
3.4 When the trial ends without a paid subscription, editing the worked examples stops; you can still sign in and read them. Creating, editing and exporting your own proformas needs a paid plan. Trial account data is retained for 30 days after the trial ends.
3.5 One trial per person and per organization. We may refuse or terminate a trial we reasonably believe is a duplicate or is being abused.
3.6 No trial at checkout. Pro, Syndicator and Venture plans bought at checkout — monthly, quarterly or annual — start the paid membership, and the first charge, on the day of purchase; there is no trial at checkout. The checkout page states the amount, the billing frequency, the renewal date and how to cancel. The first-purchase guarantee in section 6.1 applies.
3A. Free betas
3A.1 What a free beta is. An application we describe as a "free beta" on its website is offered free of charge while the beta lasts. Bankable Business and Bankable Marketplace are currently free betas. You don't need a payment method, and there is no checkout during the beta.
3A.2 No charge without your express consent. A free beta never turns into a paid plan automatically. We will not charge any payment method for a beta application, during the beta or when it ends, unless you choose a paid plan and expressly consent to the charge. Before you consent, we will disclose:
- the amount
- the billing date and frequency
- the renewal terms
- how to cancel
The rest of this Policy (including automatic renewal, cancellation and the 14-day first-purchase guarantee in section 6.1) applies to a paid plan only from the time you choose it.
3A.3 Notice before paid plans start. We will give at least 30 days' notice before paid plans start for a beta application, or before its beta ends. Notice will be given by email to beta users and in the application. The notice will state:
- the date the beta ends
- the paid plans and prices
- what remains free
- what happens to your data if you don't choose a paid plan
3A.4 When the beta ends. If you don't choose a paid plan, your account stays open. Anything the application offers free of charge after the beta (for example, browsing Marketplace listings) stays available. Your Deal Files and listings stay readable for at least 60 days after the beta ends, so that you can export them. Any longer retention is described in the Privacy Policy.
3A.5 Features during the beta. Beta features, limits and availability may change, as described in section 2 of the Terms. Because a beta application is free, changes during the beta do not give rise to a refund or credit. If you hold a paid plan for another application (for example, Bankable Properties), that plan and its refund rights are not affected by changes to a beta.
3A.6 Marketplace listing plans. During the beta, Marketplace listing plans are free and there is no commission. When paid listing plans are introduced:
- they will be sold per listing, with the price, duration and features shown before purchase
- they will follow 3A.2 and 3A.3
- they do not count toward, and do not receive, the multi-app discount
Buyers browsing listings are not charged. The Marketplace Supplemental Terms also apply.
3A.6.1 Who can buy a listing plan. A listing plan can be bought only for a listing that may be published under section 3 of the Marketplace Supplemental Terms:
- Owners may list operating businesses only. During the beta, investment-property listings and business-with-real-estate listings are not accepted from owners and must be placed by a licensed brokerage.
- Brokerages may buy listing plans once Bankable staff have verified their licence with the provincial regulator.
3A.6.2 Charged only when the listing publishes. A listing plan is charged only when the listing is first published, and the plan's period starts on that date. We will not charge anything while a listing cannot be published, either because it is not eligible under 3A.6.1 or because the brokerage's licence is still being verified. If a listing is refused or withdrawn before it publishes, nothing is charged.
3A.6.3 Suspension for an expired licence. If a published listing is suspended because the brokerage's licence expires or is no longer in good standing, the listing plan's period is paused while the listing is suspended. It resumes, with the remaining time, when the licence is verified again. No renewal charge is made while the period is paused. Section 6.4 and applicable consumer protection law still apply.
3A.7 Multi-app discount. A beta application counts toward the multi-app discount only once you hold a paid subscription to it. Using a free beta does not count.
3A.8 No test charges. Any sample, test or sandbox payment page shown during a beta is labelled as a test, and no real charge is made through it.
4. Automatic renewal
4.1 Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly plans monthly, quarterly plans quarterly, annual plans annually — for a further period of the same length, unless cancelled before the renewal date.
4.2 We disclose the renewal terms clearly at the point of purchase and in your confirmation email, including the renewal amount, the renewal date and the cancellation method.
4.3 Renewal reminders. For annual plans, we send a reminder by email not less than 30 days and not more than 90 days before the renewal date, stating the renewal date, the amount that will be charged, and how to cancel. For monthly and quarterly plans, the renewal date and amount are shown in the Service at all times, and we send a reminder at least 7 days before renewal on request.
4.4 Price changes on renewal. We may change subscription prices. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change takes effect on your renewal. If you do not accept the new price, cancel before the renewal date and your subscription will end at the end of your paid period.
4.5 If your payment fails on renewal, we will notify you and may retry for up to 14 days. Access may be suspended if payment is not received, and the subscription may be cancelled after 30 days.
5. Cancellation
5.1 You may cancel at any time, in the Service under Account → Cancel membership (or Account → Manage billing, our payment processor's secure billing page), in no more than two steps, without speaking to anyone and without any retention obstacle. You may also cancel by emailing legal@bankable.properties, and we will action it within one business day.
5.2 Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period. You keep access until then. We do not pro-rate a partial month or year on cancellation, except as set out in section 6 or as required by law.
5.3 We confirm every cancellation by email, stating the effective date and that no further charges will be made.
5.4 You may reactivate at any time at the then-current price.
5.5 Pause. Instead of cancelling, you may pause a monthly or annual subscription from Account → Pause for up to 3 months. No charges are made while it is paused, and your saved work is kept.
6. Refunds
6.1 14-day first-purchase guarantee. If you are dissatisfied with your first paid subscription, request a refund within 14 days of the initial charge at legal@bankable.properties and we will refund it in full.
6.2 Annual plans. If you cancel an annual plan more than 14 days after purchase, we will, on request, refund the unused portion calculated on complete unused months, less any discount attributable to the annual commitment, at our discretion.
6.3 Monthly and quarterly plans. Monthly and quarterly fees are non-refundable after the 14-day guarantee period, except as set out below or as required by law.
6.4 We will always refund where: we terminate your subscription for convenience; we discontinue a material feature of your plan and you elect a refund; you cancel because you do not accept a material amendment to the Terms; you were charged in error or charged twice; a refund is required by applicable consumer protection law; or you were charged for a beta application without the express consent described in section 3A.2.
6.5 We do not refund for: failure to use the Service; a change in your business circumstances; dissatisfaction with a modelled outcome, projection or result; loss arising from a transaction decision; or where we terminate for your breach of the Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
6.6 Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval. We refund the tax collected together with the fee.
7. Seats, upgrades and downgrades
7.1 Upgrades take effect immediately. We charge the pro-rated difference for the remainder of your current period, and the new plan price from the next renewal.
7.2 Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period. No credit or refund is issued for the difference in the current period. Features and data limits of the lower plan apply from the effective date, and content exceeding those limits may become inaccessible — export first.
7.3 Additional seats are billed pro-rata for the remainder of the current period. Removed seats take effect at the next renewal.
8. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge, please contact legal@bankable.properties first — most disputes are billing errors we can fix immediately. If a chargeback is initiated, we may suspend the account pending resolution. Where a chargeback is resolved in our favour, we may recover the amount and any processor chargeback fee, and require payment by another method before restoring access.
9. Invoices and records
Invoices and receipts, showing fees and tax separately together with our GST/HST registration number once we are registered, are available in the Service under Account → Manage billing and are emailed on each charge. Enterprise customers may be invoiced on net 30 terms under an Order Form, in which case overdue amounts bear interest at 1.5% per month, compounded monthly (19.56% per annum), and we may suspend the Service on 10 days' notice of non-payment.
10. Non-consumer customers
Where you subscribe for business purposes and are not a "consumer" under applicable consumer protection legislation, sections 6.1 and 6.2 apply as a matter of our policy rather than statutory right, and we may vary them by written agreement, including under an Order Form.
